This is the sixth episode in a series highlighting homeopathic remedies I carry with me all the time. There are almost 50, so it will take a while to complete!
Even people who have no idea what homeopathy is have likely heard of Arnica. Many mainstream pharmacies carry Arnica cream, which is indicated for bruising, swelling and abrasions. I’ve also been seeing ads for Arnica in its herbal form as a skin conditioner, which I currently would not recommend, since Arnica in homeopathic form is more effective and completely nontoxic.
One of the dearest and most interesting homeopaths that we studied in the Academy of Practical Homeopathy was a man from Sri Lanka named Joe DeLivera, who personally took a sip of Arnica 30c in water every day and said it was largely responsible for his longevity – he lived nearly 100 years! While it may not be the elusive Fountain of Youth, it certainly does have an amazing ability to correct imbalances in circulation and blood quality, and that has a positive effect in all areas of our body.
If I could only carry two remedies, Arnica would be one. Aconitum would be the other. Arnica for injury, Aconitum for shock. When I broke my ankle, I took Aconitum immediately, followed by Arnica very 30 minutes or so until I was able reach the ER and get checked out. Of course I continued taking Arnica (and other relevant remedies) throughout the healing process, which went much more quickly than expected due to the gentle and effective nature of homeopathy.
