This is the fifth episode in a series highlighting homeopathic remedies I carry with me all the time. There are almost 50, so it will take a while to complete!
Oh no! You’ve been stung by a bee, bitten by a mosquito, or attacked by evil pollen – what do you do? When there’s puffy swelling, redness, and pain, practical homeopaths reach with confidence for our bottle of Apis mellifica, and we tend to keep it around in both 200c and 1M potencies.
If you’re a Latin scholar, you know that “Apis” means “bee,” and your suspicions would be correct – this remedy is made from honeybees. Not the honeybee product that we eat on biscuits or toast, though! Many of our best homeopathic remedies are made from toxins, and Apis is no exception. Isn’t it amazing that the process of dilution and succussion that Samuel Hahnemann discovered in the late 1700’s when he coined the term homeopathy can transform a toxic substance into a curative one? I love it.
Apis is always in my purse because it’s not only great for stings, bites, and seasonal allergies; it’s also effective for many who suffer from anaphylaxis. Several of my colleagues carry Apis around instead of an Epi-pen and find that it works at least as effectively, without the price tag or the expiration date. Keep in mind that, although this is true for them, I would never suggest that my readers go against the advice of their personal medical providers. I’m simply sharing what I have learned and relating my own and others’ experiences with homeopathy.
I would love to share more information about homeopathy with you. Please click “subscribe” below to join my homeopathy email list, and consider taking one of my classes! If you would like to schedule an individual consultation about a health problem you’re experiencing, just send me an email and we’ll get the process started.
